"Ossolano DOP" is a traditional cheese produced in Ossola Valley.
The region of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola is the northern tip of Piedmont. It is a leaf-shaped complex of alpine valleys, which converge in the principal one marked by Toce river - Ossola Valley.
Produced in Ossola Valley with cow milk 100% local.
Organoleptic properties: the rind is smooth and regular and the cheese itself is pale yellow, a colour which intensifies going on with the aging process. It is consistent, elastic and with irregular tiny holes. Its flavour has a characteristic, harmonious and delicate aroma. According to the season and to the aging process, it can be more intense and fragrant.
Ingredients: milk, salt, rennet, local starter cultures.
Allergens: milk and milk-based products, lactose.
Origin of the milk: Italy - Piedmont - Ossola Valley.
